Wyoming Child Nutrition Cooperative

Member Agreement    Total Commitment

Welcome! The cooperative purchasing program, started by the Northeast Wyoming Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) over ten years ago, has saved smaller schools in Wyoming over 10 percent in food costs. NEW BOCES itself has saved 14 percent since August 1999, and money saved by the districts typically goes back into their school’s budget to be used for other student programs and needs.

School districts in Wyoming have pooled the purchasing together. These include the following schools:

Wyoming Members: Big Horn County #1, #2, #3, #4, Crook County #1, Converse County #1 & 2, Hot Springs County #1, Johnson County #1, Fremont County #6, 14, 21, and 24, Goshen County #1, Holy Name School (Sheridan), NEW BOCES, NWW BOCES, Niobrara County #1, Park County #1 and #16, Platte County #2, Sheridan County #1, 2, and 3, St. Joseph's Children's Home, St. Stephen's Indian School, Washakie County #1, Washakie County #2, Weston County #1 & #7, and YES House.

Food Services of America in Billings, Montana,  is the Prime Vendor.

About the Director:

Patrick Hopper comes to us with 14 years of School Food Service Director experience. In addition, he has worked for Marriott Management Services and Sodexho Management Services as a General Manager and Buyer in Corporate Dining, Hospital Food Service, and Schools. In his own words he shares his vision and goals for CNC and our purchasing coop here at NEW BOCES:

"As a previous customer/member of the coop while serving as FSD for Converse #2, I already know the value of group purchasing for food. It is with great anticipation that I can also offer school districts superb pricing on many other items such as vehicles, kitchen equipment, copiers and office supplies to name a few. I look forward to visiting all of the districts in Wyoming in order to present to them the many choices and ways to save money.

As members of a national cooperative, (Association of Educational Purchasing Agencies or AEPA), we can now offer the buying power of a much larger base. These national bids are awarded locally so that our customers can still enjoy direct customer service from some of the same Vendors they have been dealing with for years… but at a better price!

My goal is to not only be responsive to every customer’s needs, but to also be pro-active in finding you ways to save, while helping you  to make smooth transactions for many purchases. I will serve as your source for product information and will work with you to solve any problems that might arise during your process.

As a seasoned Food Service Director I can offer solutions for your program needs such as Food Safety training, State compliance issues, Pre-audit assistance and Self-audit/health inspections. I am also staying up on all of the latest Federal guidelines pertaining to The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. Feel free to contact me if you have needs in any of these areas.

I will be contacting you during the school year so that I can schedule a meeting to go over our offerings with you. Until then feel free to contact me at any time."
